Chamber Music: Youthful Treasures, curated by Eric Wilson

  • Golden Ears United Church 22165 Dewdney Trunk Road Maple Ridge, British Columbia, V2X 3H7 Canada (map)

Curated by acclaimed Canadian cellist Eric Wilson, Youthful Treasures brings together three works of chamber music by Bohuslav Martinů, Sergei Rachmaninov, and Johannes Brahms.

The programme opens with Martinů’s Three Madrigals for violin and viola, followed by Rachmaninov’s expressive Sonata for Cello and Piano in G minor. After intermission, the evening concludes with Brahms’s richly textured Piano Quintet in G minor, a powerful work combining dramatic intensity, lyrical beauty, and virtuosic interplay between piano and strings.

Spanning three distinctive musical voices, this concert offers an engaging exploration of chamber music, from intimate instrumental dialogue to sweeping Romantic expression.
